The 10 most popular types of coffee - get to know them and choose your favorite!
  1. Espresso

Espresso is the most classic coffee, although its intense character may not appeal to everyone. To brew it, simply pour finely ground coffee beans with boiling water under high pressure. Contrary to appearances, achieving the perfect espresso brew is not as easy as it might seem!

  1. Café Americano

One of the most commonly found types of coffee in various coffee shops. Allegedly, American soldiers during World War II were the first to drink Café Americano to make their drink last longer. It's simply a serving of espresso with added water instead of milk. A milder version for lovers of black coffee.

  1. Flat White

Flat White, in layman's terms, is black coffee with milk, and interestingly, this type of coffee originates from Australia or New Zealand! It is prepared by pouring espresso (one or two shots) with a small amount of frothed milk. The milk adds sweetness to this coffee, while the espresso provides acidity and caffeine.

  1. Cappuccino

Espresso with frothed milk and creamy milk foam on top. Cappuccino is usually served in a cup, sprinkled with a bit of cocoa. Italians love to drink it for breakfast, and interestingly, the name of this coffee comes from the color of the habits of the monks, who were called Capuchins.

  1. Café Latte

Differs from Cappuccino in that it is served in a tall, transparent glass, allowing you to admire its layers when properly brewed. But above all, it contains more milk and less foam, making it the most milky type of coffee. Traditionally, it consists of one shot of espresso and a large amount of milk, but if you need more caffeine, you can strengthen it with a second shot of espresso.

  1. Affogato

Affogato is the perfect alternative for hot days and a perfect combination of coffee with sweetness! It's often ordered as a dessert because it consists of one or two scoops of ice cream drowned in a shot of espresso.

  1. Macchiato (or Piccolo Latte)

Macchiato is a compromise between strong espresso and delicate cappuccino. It consists of a shot of espresso topped up with frothed milk. It's best suited for fans of milky coffees who need a stronger kick!

  1. Irish Café

A coffee that's currently served with a syrup mimicking the taste of whiskey, but originally should consist of hot coffee, sugar, and about 30 ml of Irish whiskey. Properly served in tall glasses dedicated to this type of coffee and garnished with a dollop of whipped cream. An excellent choice for autumn and winter evenings with loved ones. Brew it with ideal beans for autumn to fully enjoy its flavor.

  1. Ristretto

Thought there couldn't be anything stronger than espresso? Well, think again! Ristretto is coffee for those craving strong, coffee experiences. To brew it, the same amount of ground coffee as for espresso is used, but with half the amount of water!

  • Viennese Coffee

This type of coffee will appeal to sweet tooths who also enjoy stronger coffees. Two shots of espresso in a cup filled with a generous amount of whipped cream. Usually decorated with cocoa powder or chocolate sauce.

These are some of the more popular coffees, but it's just a piece of this extraordinary coffee culture. There's still Romano espresso served with a slice of lemon, Lungo, which is the opposite of Ristretto, and many, many more! Now you can experiment with new types of coffee to bring a bit of variety into your coffee world!
